Managerial Effectiveness wound down for the residency, leaving Accounting as the remaining class for the week. As much as everyone is freaking out about the class, I’m not really that worried. In fact, I find the Professor quite refreshing in her quest to keep the ‘monologue-ers” from asking two minute questions, and the crisp attention to time. Yes, there is a ton of material (of which I’ve done little thus far!), but if there’s one thing you can say about Accounting, it is that it doesn’t require a ton of thinking. Of course, there are things that need to be classified, and thought about what you are doing, but it’s not like there’s essays to write and a ton of ambiguities. Number A goes on Line B!
One major positive of having only Accounting remaining is that “free time” is starting to appear in the schedule. I just woke up from a two hour nap, quite refreshing! Of course, if I didn’t spend all night in the bar last night, maybe I wouldn’t need to sleep so much. But then I would’ve missed out on some great conversations with classmates. Last night ranged from discussion of hedge funds, to philosophy (thanks Kerry, I needed that discussion), to old school college silliness. I wasn’t expecting to see my classmates wandering the halls with a recycling bucket full of beers, Sunday night or otherwise…
This afternoon and tonight, I’ll be studying for a while. Any of you classmates out there that read this, send me an email about dinner, especially those of you I haven’t seen since day one. And if you read this after dinner, let’s together for some drinks. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends for 10 days now, might as well go out again tonight and keep the streak alive!
